Advice!

If any of you have had morning sickness, I need you to post your best remedies! Mine has just started in full force just now at 16 weeks (I'll be 17 weeks on Tuesday.).

Have you had it start this late before???

So weird, but it's making me SO unmotivated...

oh I wish I had some good advice for you! Crackers worked a little bit for me. I hope it is short lived :)

Mine would start right away and last until the 5th month, then it was just when I didn't eat.

Keep food on your stomach The best time to eat is right after you get sick to your stomach. If you let yourself get too hungry your blood sugar won't cooperate with your tummy. Just eat what sound good...a little bit, then if it stays down, a little more, etc. Sometimes sipping on a diet soda helped me.

If I ate too much at one time, my stomach could not handle it when I was pregnant.

Hope that helps. Hope it subsides again soon!

I am currently 10 weeks pregnant with my second child and during my first pregnancy the doctor told me the safest medication to take was 1/2 tablet of Unisom with 1/2 tablet of vitamin B6 (25 mg tablet). I was concerned about taking any medication, but it is pregnancy category A, which means there has been tons of research and it is completely safe. Nothing else helped!

This pregnancy I forgot the exact dosage so I called a Motherrisk Nausea hotline. It connected me to a lady in a Children's Hospital in Canada. She told me the exact same thing. She said that it was the first line treatment in Canada and that it used to be given in US, but the company couldn't afford liability coverage. But docs still recommend the combination that make up the Canadian medicine.

You can take the dosage I gave you even up to 5 times a day (just don't exceed 75 mg of unisom or 200 of B6 in one day). I tend to only take it at breakfast, lunch, and dinner as it makes you sleepy at first- but your body gets used to it.

Hope this helps!

I was teaching school while I was pregnant. They only way I made it through the day was Preggie Pop Drops and clear soda. I know you can get them at Motherhood & Maternity stores as well as Babies R Us. Not sure about online.
Hope you feel better soon!
